Symptom description

Pale yellow-white chlorotic zones run parallel to the midrib starting at base of leaves. Leaf margin, tip and midrib remain green. Symptoms generally start at the older leaves, but sometimes occur at the younger leaves first.

Made worst by

Organic soils. High pH soils. Soils rich in phosphorus. Soils receiving high phosphorus application. Cold wet conditions.

Important for

Good plant development early in the season. Improves yield. Brings harvest date forward.
