Symptom description

Manganese deficiency causes yellow-green intercostal chlorosis on leaves. Especially the medium aged, large leaves show distinct dark green veins and leaf margins. With Zinc undersupply the leaves also show interveinal chlorosis, but the veins are less highlighted. The marginal area of older leaves is often diffusely tinted bronze to orange.

Made worst by

Organic soils. High pH soils. Soils rich in phosphorus. Soils receiving high phosphorus application. Cold wet conditions.

Important for

Improved crop development. Increased yield. Improved fruit quality.

Strawberry (field grown): One application of 0.5 l/ha at green bud followed by two applications of 0.25 l/ha applied at white bud and post-harvest regrowth. Water rate: 200 to 500 l/ha.
